BUILDING BRIDGES FOR SPIRITUAL & SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION

Since 1983 Nazarene Compassionate Ministries – Africa (NCM-Africa) has acted as the compassionate arm of the Church of the Nazarene, responding to the needs of hundreds of thousands people with the help of partners as well as compassionate individuals and organizations worldwide. Driven by vision, NCM acts as the bridge between those in need and those prompted to help - transforming lives, bringing hope, and giving new opportunities.

NCM-Africa has been instrumental in mobilizing resources and developing initiatives to respond compassionately to the most needy people in the marginal and poor rural and urban communities of Africa.

Throughout 36 countries where the Church of the Nazarene is ministering in Sub-Saharan Africa, NCM-Africa has developed projects such as community based health care, education and nutrition for children, agricultural training, disaster response, and HIV/AIDS prevention and outreach programmes. Through NCM, the Church of the Nazarene tangibly demonstrates the love of Christ – developing and promoting a compassionate lifestyle in those with whom we serve.

Rev Cosmos Mutowa is the coordinator of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries/Helping Hands Africa (NCM/HHA) for the Africa Region. He works with the Regional Director in all matters relating to compassionate projects. These include identifying areas of need, developing fund raising strategies, managing public relations with partners and donors, and working with NMM Inc on project development on the region. Cosmos and his wife, Andronica, served as Mission Coordinators for Malawi prior to his current assignment. They serve as Global Missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene The Mutowa’s have three children, Nomsa, Daniel, and Panashe.

 Anna Krog is the Office Administrator for NCM at the Regional Office, and manages general field correspondence, accounting, and reception work. She has served the region in different capacities for over 14 years.

Denise Anderson is Resource Mobilization Coordinator for Child Sponsorship and Child Development. She also serves as advisor on Child Sponsorship and Child Development activities, and coordinates training and capacity building for Child Development. Before joining NCM-Africa, Denise served in the Caribbean Region as NCM Coordinator. She and her husband Phil are Global Missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene.

Simba Kanenungo coordinates all Child Sponsorship work on the Africa Region. Some of his responsibilities include managing all correspondence between sponsors and their sponsored children. Simba served as Children’s Ministries Coordinator for the Africa Region before joining NCM.

Gugu Khuzwayo is responsible for Child Sponsorship on the Africa South Field. She handles correspondence and book work for CSP and CDCs for the South Field
