2010 Global Missionary Candidates & Retirees - Africa Region

Global Mission recommended for appointment the following missionaries. These individuals were recognized before the General Board on Monday, February 22, 2010.
Philip and Denise Anderson have served as missionaries on intern contract since August 2006 on the Caribbean and Africa regions. Phillip serves as the Africa Region communications coordinator. Denise is the coordinator of extension education for Nazarene Theological College (Africa), and in the area of child development and child sponsorship. The Andersons have two daughters, Makenzie and Morgyn. Their home church is in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. The Andersons are being appointed as missionaries on global contract to South Africa.
Collin and Shireen Elliott have served as missionaries on specialized assignment contract since March 2000 on the Africa Region. Collin serves as the field strategy coordinator of the Africa South Field. Shireen serves in the area of administration in the field office. The Elliott’s have two children, Peter and Amy. Their home church is the Shallcross Church located in South Africa. The Elliott’s are being appointed as missionaries on global contract to South Africa.
Mario and Irma Martinez have served as missionaries on intern contract since March 2002 on the Africa Region. Mario and Irma both serve as mission coordinators on the Africa West Field. They have one daughter, Jesica. Their home church is in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Martinez’s are being appointed as missionaries on global contract to Equatorial Guinea.
Cosmos and Andronica Mutowa have served as missionaries on regional contract since January 2006 on the Africa Region. Cosmos serves as the regional coordinator for Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Andronica is the regional coordinator for the Medical Insurance and the Pension Program. They have three children, Nomsa, Daniel, and Panashe. Their home church is the Avondale Church located in Zimbabwe. The Mutowa’s are being appointed as missionaries on global contract to South Africa.
Stéphane and Sandra Tibi have served as missionaries on intern contract since August 2006 on the Africa Region. Stéphane serves as the coordinator of education on the French Equatorial Field, academic dean for the Theological College, and mission coordinator. Sandra serves as the assistant to the mission coordinator on the French Equatorial Field. Their home church is in Kansas City, Missouri. The Tibi’s are being appointed as missionaries on global contract to Reunion.
2010 Missionary Retirees
Global Mission was pleased to announce the following four retiring missionaries to the General Board. Global Mission would like to express its deep love and appreciation to each one of them for their many years of selfless dedication to God, the church, and all of those whose lives have been impacted by their ministry. Together, the two couples have given 77 faithful years of service to the Church of the Nazarene.
Hugh and Evelyn Friberg have served as missionaries for 39 years in Mozambique, South Africa, and Swaziland.
Ken and Linda Walker have served as missionaries for 38 years in Swaziland and South Africa.
