Prayer Requests –

Please pray for:

Rev Kilongo Masimango, JESUS Film Coordinator for the French Equatorial Field, coordinator of the Goma JESUS Film Team, and pastor of the Birere Church of the Nazarene in Goma, DRC. Rev Masimango has been missing since 30 June 2010, when he left his brothers home in Bukavu to visit a church in Uvira. Family, friends, and church leaders have tried to locate him by visiting bus stations, hospitals, prisons, and other institutions, with no success. Please pray for Rev Masimango, that he will be safe and well wherever he is. Pray that he will be found or able to get word to his family on his location. Pray also for his wife, Kamundoli Therese, and their three children, Mwetaminwa Jacques Masimango who is married and has one child, Wilondja Jackson Masimango, and Mulondwa Nathan Destin, and for his mother, who he and his family have been living with. Pray also for the JESUS Film Ministry and fellow team members and members of the church he is pastoring.

Morgyn Anderson, who cut her finger badly and was treated at the hospital on 13 July. Pray for her complete healing. Morgyn is the daughter of Phil and Denise Anderson, missionaries serving in South Africa.

Rev Errol Davids who has a malignant brain tumour, suffered with pneumonia, and is experiencing paralysis on his left side which is believed to be a result of the brain tumour. Errol is hospitalized in Durban, South Africa. He needs the prayers of God’s people on his behalf. Please pray for God’s touch on Errol’s body. Pray also for Errol’s wife Cynthia as they deal with this critical situation. Errol is the pastor of the Living Waters Church of the Nazarene in Manzini, Swaziland.

Connie Mackenzie, former missionary to South Africa and current Africa South Field Treasurer. Connie’s condition has improved, but she continues to have cellulitis in her leg and a leg ulcer. Please pray for Connie’s complete healing. She has struggled with infections for over a year. Thank you for your prayers.

Family of Dennis Oberle: Dennis Oberle passed away on 12 July 2010, in Independence, MO, USA. Dennis was the brother-in-law of Rev Don Gardner, Field Strategy Coordinator for the Africa East Field, and the husband of Don’s sister, Dorothy. Please pray for Dorothy and the other members of the Gardner and Oberle families at this time. Don and Evie Gardner are missionaries serving in Kenya.

Dr Filimao Chambo, as he leads the Africa Region, his wife Rev Samantha, and their children Tsakani and Emanuel. Pray for Dr and Mrs Chambo as they travel to the meeting of Regional Directors and for other travel in the next weeks. Pray for their safety and that God will use them in all areas of ministry.

Rev Danilo and Marie Carvalho are still waiting for an extension of their South Africa visas and their work permits for Angola. Please pray that God will intervene in their situation. The Carvalho’s are intern missionaries serving in the Lusophone Field country of Angola.

District Superintendents Retreat: The 116 participants including district superintendents, field strategy coordinators, service coordinators, and other invited guests who will come together for a time of spiritual renewal and vision casting in early September in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Southern Africa Nazarene University: Pray for all aspects of this new University for the Church of the Nazarene in Southern Africa, for the leaders, faculty, staff and for students to enrol in order to grow the university and it’s Christian influence in Swaziland and beyond to all areas of Africa.

Those Imprisoned for their Faith - Pray for those who have been imprisoned because of their faith in Jesus, to be witnesses to their fellow prisoners and guards, leading them to Christ and praising God despite their situation

Youth In Mission Teams - The 41 college students, are finishing up their ministry around the globe through Youth In Mission. Pray for the YIM teams as they complete their ministry projects and prepare for their return to their homes. Students have deployed to Cote d’Ivoire, Dominican Republic, USA (El Paso, TX), India, Italy, Liberia, Mexico, Romania, Senegal, South Africa, Vanuatu, and a Creative Access area in Asia. The Youth In Mission students join hundreds more who have been mobilized from each of our Nazarene Universities in the USA, and even more from other world areas.

Centennial in Swaziland - Pray and thank God for leading the Church in Swaziland over the years. Pray for the Holistic Gospel of Christ to keep growing. Pray for the plans for the Centennial Celebration in August.
